ANYWHERE DOORS

ANYWHERE DOORS is an itinerant performance for public space coproduced by Nuit Blanche. It questions the notions of territory, limit and border. It consists of five doors and their frames equipped with wheels. They move through urban space and create a moving border. This border changes the perception of spaces we may be familiar with. The doors are nomads: they move, stop, separate and take different paths. They form a living chain that sneaks through our streets, silently or noisy. Throughout this journey performers position the doors in highly symbolic or, by opposition: common places. The doors form an installation that acts on the environment. It provides an opportunity for the audience to explore the endless ways of playing with the doors. By crossing the installation, the audience questions its own belonging to the environment, in between freedom and regulation of movement.
